The story is the only thing I worry about in this game. From the videos it almost feels like you are dropped in this world that is hard to believe. Hopefully there will be more of a story in the game than just a guy appears and starts shoot everything he sees in a living tower that is trying to eat him. Other than that I always like the segments where they show the bridges flying around and reconnecting all over the place. Reminds me sort of the Harry Potter stairs.
That is true, hackers would be some of the biggest trophy whores. Sony's next handheld will probably include trophies (along with a second analog stick).
Haven't been able to play the first one yet, but after playing the demo and seeing this trailer Valkyrie Chronicles looks a little like Future Tactics: The Uprising back on the ps2. It just kind of felt like that game if my memory of it is correct.
Agreed. That would be a great feature that shouldn't be to hard to implement.
I like what they are doing with this. They are able to grab the lighter audience with the psp and appeal to the more mature with the ps3.
Oh, much better. The colors had worried a little bit. Is there a pic out there somewhere of it?
I heard over on Kotaku that it it will be pink and white. Hopefully it looks good, because those are not the best colors for mass appeal.
This is nicer now because people will go and buy both Forza and GT rather than compare them because they release so close together.
From what I understand is that it will control more like Kingdom Hearts than a traditional Final Fantasy. Nomura who was behind Kingdom Hearts is also behind this game so expect some similarities in the play style.
AhHHHhhh finally this is the game I have waited for now for several years. Final Fantasy XIII will be good, but Versus is what I have been anticipating ever since I saw the trailer. I hope it controls well. If they nail that, I know the rest of the game will be fantastic.
Hope the footage finds its way onto the internet soon.
It's nice to hear this kind of talk from developers. They too are gamers and enjoy all kinds of games too. People get to caught up in the fanboy wars and forget about these things.
I was trying to give a justification for the graphics portion of the score that seems to cause the most complaints. I agree the game should have probably scored overall better. I can't see why the gameplay went down.
Regardless, I really don't care much about the scores. To me the score after the decimal point is all fluff. I just bought the NG2 a few days ago really cheaply, but I will likely get NGS2 eventually also because I think it will be the better version.
I am not trying to downplay it. Rising by looking at its title is going to play differently than previous MGS games. From what I understand, Kojima isn't as involved with this project. The game may be great, but his priorities are elsewhere. He is more there to ensure the quality of the game, not to make it the way he wants.
I didn't think Kojima was too thrilled by Rising.
I know there are some flaws with that statement. Some things get hyped up a little, but looking at Ninja Gaiden's score I see nothing really wrong with it when I look at the game. Haven't seen ODST yet, but you are probably right that the graphics marks were too high. That's why I said I wish in my comment above. Comparing just Ninja Gaiden 2 to Sigma 2 the review feels about right, except for gameplay.
People just enjoy something physical to see and touch. As long as there are physical copies of games being released, the public and I will probably feel that they are missing something in the psp. It's almost like I have the assurance that even if my system breaks I still have the game disc that I can use in another device. This view is slightly irrational, because the disc could break. This is a non issue for digital games.
Many people might be more accepting if they could s...
Just look at the score as picture of the quality of the graphics currently in the current market. There may have been improvements, but there are games now that deserve higher scores relative to this game. It's like saying lets port the original Farcry to the ps3. They may improve some textures here and there, but the game is no longer a benchmark and would receive low graphics marks if released now.
Regardless of the values of the scores, you could say that even though the graphics are improved, the graphics are a year old now. There are better things out now that deserve the higher scores. Reviews are only an accurate (I wish) picture of the product WHEN it is released. Looking at reviews for 4 year old games may have high graphics marks, but bar has been raised and that score is no longer as meaningful.
Well, I have a 60 Gb Ps3 and use the backwards compatibility frequently. The convenience of of being able to play every PlayStation makes it the console I take to the dorm.
Don't worry I have heard too much praise for this game to ignore it and not play it. I just have too much work in my physics classes. It's unfortunate that one of my passions is interfering with another.
